2014 Trail Running Camp at Dippikill

This past weekend I finally participated in something I’ve been wanting to do for a while–but couldn’t for various reasons–the ARE’s Trail Running Camp! TRC is a three night getaway at Camp Dippikill in the Adirondacks for runners who want to learn more about/experience some trail running. It’s open to runners of all abilities and is pretty much a guaranteed fun time. Thursday night I arrived at around 4:45 on Thursday night, checked in and got my bib for the evening’s run, along with our handbook and our Frog. The theme of camp is Frogs–because of the Froggy Five Mile Race held on Sunday. Frogs were everywhere! I was staying…

    Weekend Happenings

First off, Happy Father’s Day to my Dad! Later this afternoon we’re picking up a Pizza from one of my Dad’s favorite pizza places and heading over to my parents to celebrate. Hope you’re having a great Dad’s Day so far. 🙂 Friday night Chris and I decided to put our CSA veggies to use and made a pizza. I whipped up some dough on Thursday night and had it ready to go for Friday when we got home. We got spinach in our CSA box this week–and it was delicious. It was so fresh and flavorful, better than any spinach I’ve ever tasted! We made huge bowls of spinach…

    Chocolate and Yoga

Sunday Morning my sister, Julie and my friend Caitlyn and I went to the Chocolate Expo at the State Museum! I had been wanting to check out the Chocolate Expo for years and finally got around to it. 🙂 We got there as soon as the expo opened, so we had first shot at the chocolate fountains. The expo cost $3 to get in, which wasn’t bad at all. The chocolate fountain was free! And you got to through the line as many times as you wanted with two dipping items per person each time through the line. Luckily it was very early so we got to go through a…

    Out of the Yoga Slump

The past few months have been solely dedicated to running. I wanted to run the Diva Half Marathon well at the beginning of October (mission accomplished) so all other exercise came to a halt, including yoga and body pump class! It had been months since I’ve done either. I’ve had a hard time fitting body pump into my schedule since school started again so I decided to suck it up and force myself to do some yoga at home. I had been in a yoga slump. I was too tired and to even do a 20 minutes class from yogadownload after getting home from class or work. Finally I did a 60…

    At Home Yoga

Otherwise known as…the poor girl’s yoga! 😉 I love yoga because its relaxing and really allows me to stretch my muscles out that always seem so tight lately. But I haven’t been going to yoga class. I’ve been doing it at home! This is my makeshift “studio” in my living room. I turned down the lights and lit a few candles and this room is perfect for some at home yoga practice. It also helps that I won a free month subscription to yogadownload.com from the Salad Girl a few weeks back! I’ve been taking full advantage and downloading class after class of yoga! Yogadownload has every type of class…
