    Crossroads Brewery

Another Sunday night, another weekend gone. Seriously, weekends go by way too fast! Friday night was spend celebrating yet another one of my friend’s birthday. My friend Melissa invited a bunch of us to the Point for dinner and drinks. I couldn’t resist the sparking moscato and had two glasses of this delicious drink. I seriously need to find myself a bottle of that! We had a pretty fantastic time! Saturday morning I did my long run (more on that later), but after resting up my sister Julie and her boyfriend Brian invited me to go to Crossroads Brew Pub! Located in Athens, about 40 minutes south of Albany, Crossroads…

    Weekend Happenings

So far I’ve had a pretty fun weekend! Friday night after work Chris and I met some friends for dinner at one of our favorite places, the Albany Pump Station! We split the nachos for an appetizer but for dinner I went with something new, the lobster sandwich. I had never seen it on the menu before so I wanted to give it a try. Usually I get the veggie wrap but didn’t see it! I hope they didn’t get rid of it… Anyway, the sandwich came on a croissant which was a unique touch, it was good! There were some decent sized chunks of lobster in there. The menu…

    Run-commuting & A Giveaway Winner

Congrats to the winner of my Cheribundi giveaway, Abigail! Shoot me an email {jen@jenisgreen.com} with your mailing address so we can get you your prize! 🙂 I’m sure you’ll love the cherry juice. ~~~ Anyway, yesterday I did something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, I ran home from work, my first ever “run-commute”. I took the bus in the morning so I didn’t have to leave my car there overnight. I packed a bag with my running clothes and gear, changed after work, locked a bunch of stuff in my desk and headed out with just my garmin gps watch and camelback backpack where I stashed my…

    Late Father’s Day Dinner

Since I was in Lancaster on father’s day this year, I didn’t get a chance to hang out with my dad. So last night my family and I went out to dinner to celebrate. Happy belated father’s day, Dad! We went over to Yanni’sin Coeymans, which is a restaurant right on the Hudson River at Coeymans Landing. We asked to sit outside since it was a gorgeous night to enjoy the view of the river! One of my favorite things about Yanni’s is their famous calamari!! I can’t have a meal here without ordering some! Thankfully my sister loves it and my parents were both willing to try it! We…

    In Burgatory

After finishing our half marathon, Chris, Jess, her parents and I headed to the Waterworks to get some lunch at Burgatory. Apparently we weren’t the only runners with this idea–the place was full of marathoners! (Spy the green shirts?) This place is big on burgers to say the least. I was so excited when I spotted a home made veggie burger on the menu. Ground Cremini Mushrooms, Lentils, Cashews and Cracked Wheat mixed with about a million secret ingredients. Topped with Smoked Gouda, Baby Arugula, Tomato and Avocado Wasabi on a Whole Wheat Bun. I actually went for the “make your own burger”–the veggie burger on a whole wheat bun…
