Where Do Your Eggs Come From?
Do you know where your eggs come from? I do! These cute girls!! Aren’t they adorable? They belong to my neighbors, and thankfully my neighbors provide me with fresh eggs once every couple of weeks. The eggs obviously have to be cleaned with cold water before you really do anything with them, but c’mon, this is local! I feel so much better knowing where my eggs come from, and that these chickens are living a happy life in their warm little coop. Pre-Race Jitters
Today I have been a bundle of energy in preparation for tomorrow’s big race!! I couldn’t even sleep in this morning, which I wanted to do so badly! I got up at 6:30 am and cleaned my room! Ha! I definitely have a case of the pre-race jitters. And then I had breakfast, raw oats + chobani yogurt + dried berries. I love these. They go perfect in oatmeal and yogurt messes! Yum! There’s Nothing Better Than Free Yoga
There’s nothing better than yoga bright and early in the morning on Saturday. 🙂 Especially when it’s a FREE class! The Breathing Room is having a special for October–-free yoga on Saturday mornings at 9AM – 10AM. And it was wonderful. The studio is small but cute and has such a relaxing atmosphere. I loved it. It was basic yoga, so beginners were more than welcome. The stretching felt really nice and it was so calming. This is one of the reasons why I love taking actual yoga classes. And it was just what I need the day before my last long run (11 miles) before my half marathon. I…

Salute the Sky with the Breathing Room
This morning I took my very first yoga class! And it was incredible. My friend and co-worker, Sarah, and I headed bright and early to Indian Ladder Farms, where the class was going to be held. It was outside in one of their fields, with a view of the Heldeberg Escarpment. Indian Ladder is a place I’ve been going to since I was a young kid, when my grandparents would take my sister and I there for apples and nature hikes. 🙂 I have a connection with this place. Our yoga class started at 9am and we walked a short ways up a small hill in the back next where…
