    Chocolate Cherry Oatalicious Smoothie

Good morning! This morning I started my day off right with a delicious smoothie! And I think this one might be one of the best I’ve made yet so I just had to share it. I know you’re probably thinking its still too cold for smoothies but the more I drink them the more I can pretend its warm outside. 🙂 One can dream, right? This time I threw some oats into my smoothie so it makes it a bit more thicker and more satisfying. It really works, and it adds healthy fiber to your drink as well. And for some reason this one was really chocolately! Chocolate Cherry Oatalicious…

    Killer Crane

I swear, I could eat the whole batch of superfood cookies that I made yesterday, they are so chewy and delicious! Ahem…anyway. I hope everyone is doing well on this Tuesday evening. Last night after participating in a tweet up for foodbuzz, I was motivated to make a breakfast cookie to have for breakfast this morning. I also wanted to try my new protein powder. Here’s the cookie! I threw in… 3/4 cup of oats 1/2 mashed banana 2 tbsp of unsweetened almond breeze 1 tbsp of  almond butter 1 tsp of chocolate rice protein powder 1 sprinkle of dark  chocolate chips It was bit too wet, probably because I…

    Monday Musings

Does anyone else hate Mondays? I’m so glad Monday is over. So yesterday I had a nice relaxing Sunday. I recovered from the Freihofer’s/DMB Concert by running a seven mile Long Run as part of my Boilermaker training! I woke up later than usual…at 9 AM! That’s the latest I’ve slept in a while! And it felt nice! I ate three blueberry pancakes made with Fiber One Instant Pancake mix, not caring about whether or not that would affect my run. I topped them with home-made blueberry sauce. Yum! I can’t stand eating light maple syrup on my pancakes anymore…yuck. (Although I will admit that it was good choice while losing weight.) The weather was…

    Pre-Race Eats

Good afternoon everyone!! Only a couple hours away until the Workforce Challenge! Yay! And it is already really warm out, so I’ve been drinking water like a fiend! Last night I made a breakfast cookie to have this morning. I kind of went overboard with the oats and added about 3/4 a cup. I usually only add about 1/2 a cup, but I saw some leftover oats in the bottom of the container and I wanted to use them all up. I think this is one of my favorite breakfasts…right underneath chocolate chip banana pancakes of course. But I figured this would be the perfect breakfast! In my breakfast cookie 3/4…

    Six Miles on a Track

Today I didn’t have a running partner and I wanted to get a six mile run in, so after I work I headed to my old high school track. I ran a pretty easy six miles. I felt pretty good after, I probably could have kept going, but I was hungry and getting bored of running around in circles. One thing I like about running on tracks is that it is easier on my knees. After running six miles with Sue around her neighborhood, my legs were definitely more sore.  Either that or I’m getting used to running the distance. But I figured I would now write about using my…
