    Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today I actually have a recipe for you all and its really tasty. Here is a sneak peek. I will get to that in a minute. But first, breakfast! A green monster! In the smoothie: lots of spinach 1/2 cup of almond milk 1/2 tsp of maca powder 1 banana 5 cubes of ice Doesn’t it look extremely green? It was tasty. A few days ago I got a big package in the mail… A surprise from Pop Chips! I’m a huge fan of these tasty chips. They’re all natural and only 100 calories a bag. Read my initial review here. This morning for my morning snack I tried something…

    Some Not So Good News

Are you glad its Friday, or what? I am for sure. It’s been a hectic week, with my office holiday party, on Tuesday, and yesterday Chris and my sister’s boyfriend both came over for dinner last night with the family. The holidays are in full swing, that’s for sure. Yesterday morning I started out with something healthy to make up for my crappy eating this week. Honestly, I haven’t been making the best decisions food wise lately. It was probably stupid of me to try to actually lose a few pounds during the holiday season, but right now I’m trying just to maintain my weight through the holidays with lots…

    Catching Up

Okay, this post is going to be all over the place so bear with me! I have a lot of catching up to do since I pretty much took Saturday + Sunday off from blogging for a relaxing weekend! Let me rewind to Saturday… Saturday morning I dug back into my Trader Joe’s pancake mix and made some pumpkin waffles, which were amazing by the way. I topped them with my home made pumpkin butter mixed with a touch of maple syrup for some mapley pumpkiney deliciousness. I think I have a thing for waffles as pre-run fuel, because after breakfast I headed to the outdoor track to run some…

    Impulse Obstacle Course

So, I just signed up for the Warrior Dash on a whim. I had been thinking about it for a while, but the expensive price of registration has been putting me off (and maybe the scary obstacles?) until today. A couple of my friends are doing it so I signed up for it on an impulse. Hey, an obstacle course race is one of my “bucket list” items, so why not do it and get it over with? 😉 The Warrior Dash is described as: “the ultimate event for thrill-seeking athletes. This running series is held on some of the nation’s most demanding and unique terrain. Participants will conquer extreme…

    Speedwork

I wasn’t originally going to post tonight because I’m feeling super lazy but I decided to go ahead because I do have some interesting things to say. This morning I made another smoothie attempt with my new rice protein, and I went the green monster route. I threw in: 1/2 cup of almond breeze 1 banana 1 handful of spinach 1/2  scoop of rice protein powder 1/2 tsp of maca powder 1 tsp of chia seeds It tasted like…medicine! But I drank it anyway. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions for those who have tried rice protein before? I know it has great benefits but I’m just having trouble…
