Today is March first, meaning, it is Green Challenge Day! And we have another good one for you! Challenge #6 – March 1, 2011 – March 1, 2012 No Television for One Week Per Month. Simple enough, right? For this challenge, I’m going to be turning off my T.V. for a week during each month, so I can 1) have quiet time spent reading, studying, and getting work done; and 2) use less electricity! Green Challenge #5 – Reduce, Reuse & Recycle

This month’s green challenge is simple, but important. (source) One of the best ways we can help our environment is by reducing waste, reusing products and recycling. Green Challenge Month 1: Guide to NY Beer and Wine

Happy Friday everyone! I’m going to try to get in the habit of posting about my Green Challenge every Friday to kind of check in with how we’re doing with it! This week I haven’t been doing any drinking since my half marathon is on Sunday and I’m not going indulge in alcohol until it is over! 😉 Sunday after my 12-miler I did have a beer: Rare Vos, a beer brewed by the Ommegang Brewery in Coopertown, NY! From their website, “Lift the glass to your mouth and enjoy the aroma of spicy orange blossoms. Taste, and the pleasant mellow flavor of caramel malt glides easily into a dry,…

    Jen’s Green Challenge

I’m really happy and excited to announce a new project that I’m putting together for my blog…Jen’s Green Challenge!! Last week, Chris and I watched a documentary called “No Impact Man“. Basically, this guy, Colin Beaven, went one year leaving as little impact on the Earth as possible. He and his wife gave up every day things that we normally take advantage of. Some examples were: -Living without electricity -Eating and purchasing only local food -Giving up on using paper products -Biking or walking as transportation rather than using transportation that requires fuel -Not buying any NEW products (only buying used or recycled) -Not buying any products with packaging (buying…
