    Home-Made Salsa Verde

Yesterday we got our 15th box of CSA vegetables. Can you believe it’s already been FIFTEEN weeks since we stared? We’ve gotten some delicious things. This week we got cilantro, onions, tomatillos, tomatoes, garlic, arugula and some beets! Well, more than half of those ingredients just call for tacos, no? I decided to make salsa verde for the first time to add to our fish tacos last night! I just googled salsa verde and found a bunch of easy recipes. It was really easy and it came out tasting GREAT! All of my ingredients for the salsa were 100% local and I felt great about that! Tomatillos Large clove of…

    Alcatraz Brewing Company

Last Friday in California, Chris and I rented a car so we could check out some things in Anaheim. We found the Outlets at Orange, big shopping center not far from our hotel. One of the reasons we stopped here was to check out Alcatraz Brewing Co. I knew immediately what beer to order: the Strawberry Wheat! It has a really strong strawberry aroma, but when I tasted it, I didn’t taste much strawberry, but I still enjoyed my beer. It was refreshing! Tour of the Indian River Lagoon

This morning Chris and I did something touristy. We went on a River Cruise a few miles away from my parents’ house. The cruise advertised dolphin and manatee sightings so we wanted to check it out to see some of Florida’s wildlife. The weather was perfect for a boat ride! Here are a few photos from the cruise. And yes, we did see a lot of bottlenose dolphins! And LOTS of birds…mostly pelicans. And an osprey too. The manatees must have been hiding….but it was still an awesome boat ride…perfect for relaxing and taking in the scenery. After the cruise, it was right about lunch time so we went back…

    Dinner at Capital City Gastropub

For some reason the name “gastropub” just creeps me out. But a few of my fellow bloggers and good friends and I decided to have dinner last night at the new Gastropub on New Scotland Avenue, anyway despite the name. 😉 Melissa, myself, Emily and Alicia and I met and were excited to try the new place.    They had a lot of small plates on the menu so we decided to split two of the vegetarian dishes, the roasted onion and the Ratatouille. Here is the ratatouille, I think my camera ate the photo of roasted onion.   I was impressed with neither of them. 🙁 The ratatouille was…

    The Highlights of Boulder

We did many awesome things while in Boulder this past weekend. Lets do a short hopefully not too long re-cap, shall we? The Wedding – Friday night was Brooke and Dan’s wedding, and it was a blast! Gorgeous scenery, good food and a great party. The bride & groom. The altar. The cake. (Red velvet to be exact.) Celestial Seasonings Factory Tour – Located in Boulder, Chris and I took a few hours to go visit the home of one of my favorite teas, Celestial Seasonings! It was the most amazing smelling factory, ever. And we go to wear funny hair nets. We also sampled delicious teas. And I also…
