Green Challenge Month 1: Guide to NY Beer and Wine

Happy Friday everyone! I’m going to try to get in the habit of posting about my Green Challenge every Friday to kind of check in with how we’re doing with it! This week I haven’t been doing any drinking since my half marathon is on Sunday and I’m not going indulge in alcohol until it is over! 😉 Sunday after my 12-miler I did have a beer: Rare Vos, a beer brewed by the Ommegang Brewery in Coopertown, NY! TGIF! All day I was thinking about what I was planning to make with this monster. I got this huge eggplant at the farmer’s market yesterday for $1.50. I have never cooked eggplant in my life! When we ordered it, the waitress described it as tasting like “liquid sunshine“. How could we not try that? 😉 It smelled…

    A Lovely Saturday

The weather this weekend has been pretty nice, so I decided to take advantage of it! Saturday morning Chris and I went to the Troy Farmer’s Market to see what it was all about. During the winter it is inside the Atrium, but in the summer it is outside by the river, and I can’t wait to go to that. But it was pretty cool despite being inside. They had some decent vendors — lot of meats and cheeses. I was looking for goat cheese but didn’t find any…next time I will ask. Chris amd I each got two bottles of wine from the Cascade Mountain Winery (New York wine! yay!) I got…
