    The No-Running Update

Today will mark three weeks since the Vermont City Marathon, and three weeks since I last ran. The absence of running also means lack of blog content, so this is why there have been minimal blog posts lately. I’m a firm believer if I don’t have anything worth writing about, to not write anything at all. But I figured I’d post an update about my lack of running. No running has given me more time for a lot of other workouts! And also time for relaxing on Saturday mornings. ๐Ÿ˜€ Hot Yoga I’ve been going to a Hot Flexibility Flow once a week. I love this class. It’s perfect for…

    Weekend Happenings

Friday night: Friday was pretty low key! I made some home made pizza for Chris and myself, complete with some cheese from the Cheese Traveler. It was DELICIOUS and one of the best pizzas I’ve made so far! The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the fake sausage–the lightlife brand. It didn’t even taste like sausage–just like fake meat product. At least it added a bit of a protein, but the rest of the pizza was really good. The cheese we used was mostly mozzarella but also some slices of Havarti from Demark. Chris went to the Cheese Traveler to pick up some. It was pretty fantastic on…

    Tuesday Randomness

Wow, my upper body is sore today! And this post is going to be pretty random. Yesterday morning I went to my first Body Combat class with Courtney. Body Combat is like a fast moving kickboxing class, and it was a really great workout. It was so fast paced I had trouble keeping up with the moves! I haven’t been to kickboxing in years and I didn’t realize how much I missed it! (source) I also managed to squeeze in a 3.0 mile run at lunch yesterday since the weather seemed to be cool enough now. Those hot temps last week kept me on the treadmill so it was nice…

    Body Pump Challenge

After taking my second ever Body Pump class with Courtney and Melissa yesterday, I am extremely sore today. My legs are bit sore but not as bad as my chest and arms. I had been putting it off for a while because I had a few races, but now I’m in clear for a while. This makes me realize that my upper body is extremely out of shape. However, my legs are like steel. I can run a half marathon but I can hardly do 10 modified push ups. My upper body is very flabby! This is going to change! (thanks Courtney for the photo!) Now I have access to…
