2014 Workforce Team Challenge
Good morning! Happy Friday. Anyone take part in the Workforce Team Challenge last night? I always run it with my co-workers, and this year was no different. Except this year was the first year it rained! It was raining when we got to the plaza, but then stopped right as the race was starting. 9,500 people were signed up for this race, the largest in the capital region! I didn’t have any goals going into this race because it’s so hard to run a good race due to the thousands of runners. This year, the course was a bit different. We started further up Madison Avenue so this gave us…

Spring in Albany
After enduring months of cold weather, today finally felt like Springtime. I took a long walk to Washington Park and Center Square and snapped some photos. Spring! Tulips! Sunshine! Happiness! A few days before Tulipfest is the best time to see the tulips. All the beauty without the crowds.

Dinner at Rain Modern Chinese
Look, a restaurant review! It has been so long since Chris and I have gone out to a “new” restaurant in Albany. Yesterday was our chance! We had plans to attend the Winterfest Beer Social at Lionheart Pub on Madison ave after work, so we decided to grab dinner nearby at the Chinese place, Rain. I decided to order a drink and went with the Scorpion, a cocktail of fruit juice, brandy, and rum. It was tasty, tropical, and reminded me of summer… Chris…

Dinner at New World Bistro
Friday marked four years from when Chris and I went out on our first date! We decided to celebrate with dinner at one of our favorites, New World Bistro Bar on Delaware Avenue. You must order a bottle of wine when celebrating something, no? For an appetizer I got the street-style calamari, and let me tell you it was one of the best I’ve tried! The sauce was amazing. For dinner I went with the jerk chicken meal, since its supposed to be one of their best dishes. The seasonings on the kale and beans were a little bit too spicy for me, but the chicken was delicious! I…

Weekend Report
Happy Monday. Well, I had a pretty good weekend. It was HOT and gorgeous! Friday night after work Chris and I went to dinner at Sitar, an Indian restaurant on Central Avenue. Its been awhile since I did a local restaurant review! We ordered the sampler of appetizers, which came with veggie samosas and pakoras with a mint dipping sauce. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. My favorite her were the pakoras. For dinner I got the Navratan Korma (from the menu: mixed vegetables cooked with Indian cheese, cream, onions, & tomato gravy mildly spiced). It was delicious and so filling. Indian food isn’t complete without delicious naan, either.…
