    One Semester Down, Almost

I have two weeks left of my first semester of graduate school. HURRAY! To say that the past few  months have been hectic is an understatement. I’m shocked that I can get it all done and keep everything straight! Thankfully I am very organized and I’m very efficient so I can find time to get my work done on time. 🙂 I am really looking forward to a month-long break from school! Since I haven’t really mentioned my classes that much, I wanted to give a brief overview of the courses I took this semester! Thought it might be kind of interesting, since I know it is to me. Day in the Life

I’ve officially been a full-time grad student for a little over a month. And even though I’m really busy, its actually pretty do-able and I haven’t wanted to pull my hair out… yet. I’m usually busy from 7AM until after 8PM on most days, but it isn’t so bad. I keep reminding myself that it’s worth it (I absolutely love my classes) and the hard work will pay off in the end. Here is a look at one of my typical days. 5:15AM Alarm goes off, cat follows me into bathroom and drinks out of the sink while I put my contacts in and put on my running clothes, fill…

    The Next Chapter

Back in the summer of 2010 (not long after I started this blog) I went to an info session on going back to school for Nutrition Science. Since then, I’ve taken a list of prerequisites that I needed before going to back to school, a total of eight courses. Back then I looked at the long list and freaked out. But now its over. Three years later, the prereqs are done. I can finally go to grad school! Last night I had my last in-class final for A&P II. I was so nervous about taking A&P that I saved it for last–and it ended up being my favorite. We had an…

    A&P Done!

The semester is over!! Monday night I had my final exam in Anatomy & Physiology 1 and it went very well! I had a great time in the class. Sure, we dissected cats and sheep brains in Lab, but it was SO fascinating. I’m excited about taking A&P 2 next semester. In case you are new to reading the blog, a looooong time ago I decided to go back to school for nutrition. It feels like forever ago I was sitting in my Psychology 101 class and staring down a huge list of courses I needed for the nutrition program. After graduating from undergrad in 2007, I decided I wanted…

    School Update

Ah, school. I’ve been out of college for five years now (how is this possible?) but technically I’m still a student! As I mentioned in the past, I decided to go back to school for nutrition. My ultimate goal is to become a Registered Dietitian. I was accepted into a nutrition program at a local college last year, but deferred my acceptance until Fall of 2013 so I can continue getting the pre-requisites out of the way. Since the fall of 2010 I’ve taken: Intro to Psych, Intro to Nutrition Science, Accounting, General Chemistry and Microbiology. Within the next year I hope to squeeze four more courses in (while working…
