What I’m Loving Right Now: Marathon Training Edition – Part II
Zensah Compression Sleeves At first I didn’t see the point in compression socks or sleeves. But some marathoners swear by them, so I figured I’d get a pair since I’ll be running high mile runs and want my legs to recover as fast as possible. These are so comfortable. My legs feel great when I wear them after running my long runs! I wore them during a run once and didn’t really notice much of a difference, so I probably won’t wear them while I run. And lets face it, they would look pretty weird with running crops. Honey Stinger Waffles I mentioned these in my marathon food post but…

What to Pack for Ragnar Relay
Tomorrow I’m running the Adirondack Ragnar Relay! I have never ran a relay race before but apparently they are a blast. I have three legs. Leg 1 – 3.2 miles (Saratoga Springs) Leg 2 -5.7 miles (Lake George) Leg 3 – 7.9 miles (Keeseville) (source) Now what in the world does one pack for a race like this?? Here’s what I’m bringing. 3 sets of running outfits (for all types of weather) in plastic bags for easy access and to throw them into when I’m done wearing them comfy clothes for in between legs running shoes (2 pair since its now going to rain) other running gear: compression sleeves, toe…

What I’m Loving Right Now – Marathon Training Edition
Monday marked two months until the marathon! I figured I’d write a post on some things that have been making training easier! Injinji Toe Socks I just ordered my second pair of toe socks for marathon training. They are a bit thinner than my previous pair, which make them perfect for the warmer weather runs. They are so comfortable and help prevent blisters on my toes! I’m a huge fan. Yes, cat feet are in the photo too. Tart Cherry, Mango & Strawberry Protein Smoothies Since ordering my new favorite vanilla protein powder, I make these smoothies all the time. I also love adding Cheribundi to it for the long…

Running Gear Review: Nike Dry-fit Daybreak Visor
I finally broke down a bought a visor for running! Last year I tried to run with a hat but I didn’t really care for it, since I had to wear my hair back so low. I like with a visor I can wear it up like normal, and have the brim to keep the sun and sweat out of my eyes! I picked up the Nike DryFIT Daybreak Visor at our local Dick’s Sporting Goods. I actually had a $10 off coupon from the Pittsburgh Half Marathon goodie bag that needed be used, so I put it to good use and got the visor for about $10. Score! Pros…

A Surprise 10 Miler
This morning I actually slept in got up at 8:00am while I waited the temperature to rise a few degrees for my morning long run. I’m trying to make it a habit to keep doing long runs on the weekend to maintain my running endurance this winter. Once it was a crisp and sunny 27 degrees, I set out for an 8 miler. It actually wasn’t cold at all. I think I figured out my cold weather running clothing situation for the rest of the season. I recently splurged invested in a Lululemon long sleeve pullover and fell in love with it. It keeps me SO warm (and as a…
